DRAWING THE ALPHA-BET
Persons fluent in writing often say, “I can’t draw!” Usually, my reply is, “Do you know
how to write?”  Writing requires the same functions as drawing. Some letters in the
alphabet began as drawn pictures. These pictures represented visual images of the
sounds made by the voice. The only reason why writing seems effortless is that
someone took the time to encourage us to do the three “P’s”… practice, practice,
practice. Both scribes and artists had to practice how to
see and copy the basic
geometric shapes in objects.
